Everyone Jump On The Peace Train

Mikey & Studley

You know me, Mikey Mushroom, as well as my distant relative, Studley P. Hungwell, my second cousin twice removed on my brother from another mother’s side of the family, were digging on some of ol Captain Blowdi’s tunes. We got mesmerized by this old Steven Demetre Georgiou tune. You may be much more familiar with his stage name at the time, Cat Stevens. The song that got our motor running was his 1971 hit song, “Peace Train”. The message within the song is about escaping the darkness that seems to pervade our life and jump onboard the train of HOPE!

Even though this song was penned in 1971, it is still ever so relevant in 2021!

Boys and girls join me and ol Studley P. in letting this music wash all over your being one more time!

PS Me and ol Studley P. went looking all over town for the place to hop onboard The Peace Train. We found some railroad track on the northeast part of town and maybe, just maybe, we can board the bad boy right here when it goes chugging by!

Sing it with us children!!!

Now I’ve been happy lately
Thinking about the good things to come
And I believe it could be
Something good has begun
Oh, I’ve been smiling lately
Dreaming about the world as one
And I believe it could be
Someday it’s going to come

‘Cause I’m on the edge of darkness
There ride the Peace Train
Oh, Peace Train take this country
Come take me home again

Now I’ve been smiling lately,
Thinkin’ about the good things to come
And I believe it could be,
Something good has begun

Oh Peace Train sounding louder
Glide on the Peace Train
Come on now Peace Train
Yes, Peace Train holy roller

Everyone jump upon the Peace Train
Come on now, Peace Train

Get your bags together,
Go bring your good friends, too
‘Cause it’s getting nearer,
It soon will be with you

Now come and join the living,
It’s not so far from you
And it’s getting nearer,
Soon it will all be true

Oh Peace Train sounding louder
Glide on the Peace Train
Come on now Peace Train
Peace Train

Now I’ve been crying lately,
Thinkin’ about the world as it is
Why must we go on hating,
Why can’t we live in bliss

‘Cause out on the edge of darkness,
There rides a Peace Train
Oh Peace Train take this country,
Come take me home again

Oh Peace Train sounding louder
Glide on the Peace Train
Come on now, Peace Train
Yes, Peace Train holy roller

Everyone jump upon the Peace Train
Come on, come on, come on
Yes, come on, peace train
Yes, it’s the peace train

Come on now, peace train
Oh, peace train

PEACE, LOVE, AND HARMONY DUDES!
