I’m Just Waitin’ On A Friend!

As you can see from the photo above, me, Mikey Mushroom, and Studley P. Hungwell, my second cousin twice removed on my brother from another mother’s side, is hanging out together in the Sonoran Desert! For those that may have forgotten what I look like, that is me on the right in my signature Gnome Ray Bans and classically internet surfin’.

For those that follow me, you know that my long lost Haight buddy and distant relative recently relocated to my digs down in the Sonoran Desert of Yuma, AZ. I have been bugging Studley to hang up the Haight scene and get on down here for some fantastic winter weather for quite some time.

Well last weekend he showed up on my front doorstep!

Some of you may have forgotten that I bailed out on the Haight district two summers ago for the nice winter weather of Yuma, and I have not regretted it one bit! But I digress.

Man, I was so glad to get the phone call from ol Studley telling me that he had decided to pull the rip cord on the Bay Area and Haight scene. Additionally, he told me that he wanted to relocate down to my crib in Yuma and hang with me! After running it by Captain Blowdri and greasing the skids, I got back to Studley later that afternoon clearing the path for him to relocate down here!

If the truth be knownst, I was getting a little homesick for some of my “Haight Homies”. So to say that I was happy about Studley wanting to relocate down here in Yuma would have been a gross understatement!

Now that he has been here for a couple of weeks we are settling into a very cool routine! We get up in the morning and make our beds crank on a little Jimi Hendrix All Along The Watch Tower, Janis Joplin and Big Brother and The Holding Company’s “A Little Piece of My Heart”, with a kicker of Jefferson Airplane’s “White Rabbit” to start off our mornings! Additionally, we have a fondness for a Sir Mick and Keith to round out and balance our morning listening pleasures.

I can here it faintly in the back of my head………

“I’m not waiting on a lady
I’m just waiting on a friend”

God, it is good to live like you are 18 again!
